Proud to Run is a 10K and 5K running event in Chicago, Illinois. A 10K run and a 5K run/walk go along the lakefront of Chicago. It’s an incredibly popular running race that has attracted thousands of participants every year. This is a fun, and festive 10k event held on the lakeshore.

The event focuses on celebrating pride in a healthy way and raising funds to support the LGBTQ+ community of the greater Chicago area.

It has been a part of Chicago’s Pride Week activities since 1982. In 2017, Proud To Run brought together over 2,000 runners, 200 volunteers, and hundreds of friends, families, and community partners. Additionally, a record $65,000 was raised and donated to our local community beneficiaries.

The Proud To Run 10K run and 5K run/walk is organized by an all-volunteer, community-based board of directors. Proud to Run operates as an independent nonprofit organization.
