What Is The Difference Between Spartan And Tough Mudder?
The similarities between Tough Mudder and Spartan abound, because they’re both grueling, obstacle-based races.
They both hold hundreds of events all across the world, and have a series of different race options, including lengths that range from 5K, all the way up to 24-hour events.
There is, however, one key difference between Tough Mudder and Spartan.
If you are planning on tackling one of these obstacle-based races, then you need to decide whether you want to compete individually or as part of a team.
This is because the Spartan races operate on a solo basis, with just you alone facing the elements.
Tough Mudder, on the other hand, works as a whole team of people facing the course together.

How To Train For A Tough Mudder Or Spartan Race
If you feel as though you want to partake in one of these races, then you should have a proper training schedule in plan.
Many of the people who compete in these races don’t actually make it through to the finishing line, so you need to make sure that you’re well prepared in order to complete it.
Endurance Training
Although you may be likely to think that because some of these races can be completed in a shorter amount of time, they’ll probably take twice as long as you think.
If you can comfortably run 5K in around 25 minutes, then you’ll probably take a full hour to get through a standard Spartan Sprint 5K race.
Make sure that you include at least one long run per week in your training program.
Hill Training
Another one of the most difficult aspects of these races is that they require some grueling hill-based runs, which will easily tire you out if you’re not used to them.
For this reason, make sure that you’re regularly completing runs at an incline as a part of your training.
Strength Training
Probably the most important part of both of these obstacle courses is the strength training element that they include.
For the Spartan Race, for example, you’ll be expected to do a lot of rope climbing, so you should make sure to practice this regularly ahead of time.
You should also work on your upper body and grip strength, because the obstacle courses often have monkey bars that you’ll be required to work your way across.
