Running Trails by City
Heading out for a run in an unfamiliar city is easier when you know where the good trails are. This page is our directory of local running-trail guides, with more cities added over time.
Each guide covers the best routes, their distances and surfaces, and what to expect on the ground, so you can lace up with a plan instead of guessing.
How to find good running trails in a new city
- Search local parks and greenways first. City and regional parks almost always have marked, traffic-free paths.
- Check a running app’s heatmap. Popular routes show up as bright lines, a quick way to see where locals actually run.
- Ask at a local running store. Staff know the safe, scenic, and well-surfaced options better than any map.
- Match the surface to your legs. Paved paths are faster and easier to pace, while soft trails are gentler but slower.
